Symetra Named a Top-Performing Life and Health Insurance Company
BELLEVUE, Wash. — Symetra Life Insurance Company has been named
to the 2010 “Ward’s 50” group of top-performing insurance companies. Conducted by the Ward Group, a consulting and analytical firm specializing in the insurance industry and a provider of benchmarking practices, the Ward’s 50 list is composed of companies that have maintained outstanding financial results over a five-year period.
Symetra was recognized as a leading life and health insurer for achieving superior results in the areas of safety, consistency and performance for the period 2005–2009. This is the 12th year that Symetra has been named to the Ward’s 50 top-performing life and health insurers list.
More than 800 life and health insurance companies domiciled in the United States are reviewed by the Ward Group for this annual financial analysis. In selecting the Ward’s 50, Ward Group identifies companies that pass financial stability requirements and also measures their ability to grow while maintaining strong capital positions and underwriting results.
This year’s results found that Ward’s 50 companies were able to grow their business profitably in difficult market conditions.
